Level 4 Arboriculturist – Essex (Hybrid)

The company is based in Essex, with flexible working options available and occasional travel to project sites across the UK.
Role Overview
This is a full-time hybrid role suitable for an experienced arboricultural professional with a passion for delivering high-quality tree surveys, reporting, and practical vegetation solutions. The successful candidate will play a key part in managing the company’s arboricultural responsibilities, including aerial survey analysis and risk-based recommendations.
Applicants should be based within 90 minutes of Essex to meet office-based responsibilities, though hybrid and site-based flexibility is available.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct tree inspections, surveys, and condition assessments
Produce detailed professional reports covering:
Tree health, decay detection, and risk
Woodland and hedgerow management
Arboricultural design, species selection, and inventory surveys
Trees in relation to BS5837 and planning applications
TPOs, Conservation Areas, and subsidence investigations
Arboricultural Impact Assessments and method statements
Analyse drone-captured aerial footage to:
Identify tree species and vegetation types
Classify vegetation and assess risk zones accurately
Develop work prescriptions in line with BS3998 standards for tree work
Liaise with internal teams, external clients, and project stakeholders
Support environmental initiatives and collaborate with in-house ecologists
Candidate Requirements:
Level 4 Arboricultural qualification (or equivalent)
LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection certificate
Strong knowledge of tree identification, health, physiology, and pests/diseases
Ability to independently manage inspections and reporting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable using IT tools and GIS/mapping software
Willingness to travel to operational sites when required
Full UK driving licence
Membership of the Arboricultural Association is desirable
