About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Project Leader to oversee complex infrastructure projects in Braunschweig and surrounding regions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in civil engineering, with a specialization in tunnelling, Spezialtiefbau (special foundation engineering), or underground construction. You will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent projects and leading a large, multi-disciplinary team of 150–200 professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects, with a focus on tunnelling and underground works.

  • Provide strategic leadership to project managers, engineers, and field teams across multiple project sites.

  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety regulations.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, clients, authorities, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and progress.

  • Oversee resource planning, risk management, and contract administration.

  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in project execution and team performance.

  • Report regularly to senior management and contribute to organizational strategy in the infrastructure division.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in civil engineering, with substantial exposure to tunnelling, Spezialtiefbau, or similar underground construction works.

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects and leading teams of 150+ personnel.

  • Strong understanding of German construction regulations, standards, and health & safety laws.

  • Fluent in German (C1 or native level) – written and spoken.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Willingness to travel as required between project locations.
