About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Project Leader to oversee complex infrastructure projects in Braunschweig and surrounding regions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in civil engineering, with a specialization in tunnelling, Spezialtiefbau (special foundation engineering), or underground construction. You will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent projects and leading a large, multi-disciplinary team of 150–200 professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of civil engineering projects, with a focus on tunnelling and underground works.
Provide strategic leadership to project managers, engineers, and field teams across multiple project sites.
Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, clients, authorities, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and progress.
Oversee resource planning, risk management, and contract administration.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement in project execution and team performance.
Report regularly to senior management and contribute to organizational strategy in the infrastructure division.
Requirements:
Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 10 years' experience in civil engineering, with substantial exposure to tunnelling, Spezialtiefbau, or similar underground construction works.
Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects and leading teams of 150+ personnel.
Strong understanding of German construction regulations, standards, and health & safety laws.
Fluent in German (C1 or native level) – written and spoken.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Willingness to travel as required between project locations.
